Anger Management

Anger Management

A combination of negotiation and dialogue is the greatest weapon against anger, war and strife. Anger is toxic to your soul and body and that is the major reason a person must avoid anger.

The Origin of Anger

There are many factors that contribute to anger and sadness. The state of mind is crucial in anger management and that determines the momentum of anger. A relaxed or quiet person will react slowly to anger while a tense or angry person will react violently to anger. A person you hate or you do not love will be subjective target when you get angry while a person you dearly love in your heart will be forgiven easily. Anger can be a spontaneous reaction just as a drop of water inside a cup of acid; it will bounce back to you. Anger is caused by arguments among friends, spouse, sibling, co-workers and supervisor at work.

A person suffering from mood disorders gets upset easily. Mood disorder may be in these categories low, medium and high. A person with high mood disorder will be difficult to approach and it is very hard to satisfy such a person and always look for mistakes of others. Anger occurs in many places that include workplace, school, church, home and marketplace. There is different sound intensity in an environment that is characterized by angry people. People tend to be too loud in marketplace and mall when they are angry. In some cases due to professional setting people tend to get angry and walk away in the office setting.

Consequence of Anger

The final result of anger is tiredness, sadness, fearfulness, depression, and decrease in energy, loneliness, guilt and bitterness. Anger is not a solution but destroys our focus in life. Do not allow bad people to provoke you or influence you in a bad way that may lead to destruction, frustration, desolation and destruction. Anger makes you lose trust of best friend and family members because no person wants to have productive conversation with an angry person. Anger tends to exhaust your body energy and that may trigger migraine, headaches and insomnia. The body hormone known as andrenalin increases in the body and actually puts the person in a state of anxiety.

Remedies and ways to resolve anger

The best medication for resolving anger is patience and there is a popular adage that says” Patience solves all problem”. A great example is President Obama during the 2008 presidential election. He was called different names and was intimidated by those who did not like him. Definitely, to be fair, every person cannot be your friend. Great patience and perseverance make Obama the president of a great nation, United States of America. Another great example is Mandela; he was jailed for 27 years during the civil right uprising and fight against apartheid. He was finally released and God make him the president of South Africa. Patient can take you to a great height once you believe. Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in the spirit is better than the proud in the spirit (Ecclesiastes 7:8).

There are two categories of resolving anger.

·         Short Term Remedies

·         Long Term Remedies

Short term remedy is not a lasting solution to resolve or prevent anger, it is really a fact that we are living in a dynamic and multicultural society and it is necessary to find a way to live together in amicable and peaceful way.

Short term remedies include quietness, slow to anger, talking to trusted friend about your anger, walking away from the scene and taking deep breath and smiling.

Long term remedies are the most efficient ways to resolve anger and bitterness which include praying to God to destroy any kind of bad spirit in your body and soul, select your audience, physical exercise, walking, eating healthy, good sleep, volunteering in your community. Create a hobby for yourself, do what you like. If your job is your source of anger and bitterness, my good advice is to walk away and find yourself a better job. God has a better place for you. You may be in a job that you experience bitterness and anger but God is telling you to move but if you refuse to move, God will create a situation that will make you quit the job or lose the job. God has a better place for you and my prayer is that God will elevate you to a greater height.
